Senate Assigns Conference Committees on Four Active Bills

The Senate named conferees for bills on loitering, school trauma kits, medical cannabis oversight, and digital kiosk consumer protections.

The Senate formalized conference committee assignments for four bills that had diverged between chambers, setting up the next stage of negotiation before any final votes. One of the four has already crossed into the House for committee review.

On the Move

  • SB 482: Establishes consumer protections for digital transaction kiosks — such as cryptocurrency ATMs — which have been linked to high fees and scams targeting vulnerable populations. Referred to the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety committee, moving from in-committee to active floor consideration.

  • SB 429: Would require trauma kits (stop-the-bleed supplies) in NH public schools and appropriate state funding to cover the cost. Senate President appointed Senators Ward, Abbas, and Prentiss as conferees — moved to active.

  • SB 400: Updates the duties and reporting requirements of the therapeutic cannabis medical oversight board, aimed at improving transparency in NH’s medical marijuana program. Senate President appointed Senators Pearl, Gannon, and Reardon — moved to active.

  • SB 460: Would modify the criminal offense of loitering or prowling, which affects police authority over public spaces. Senate President appointed Senators Gannon, Abbas, and Altschiller as conferees — moved to active.
